Mad Hatters Tea Party

Despite the rolling waves, this afternoon, about 75 of the Dawn Nomads braved the roller coaster motion of the ocean and donned their craziest headgear to met in the Venetian Dining Room for our first Mad Hatter's Tea Party - a wondrous event where our group sported all forms of headgear ranging from sailor hats, witches hats ,Scottish tam-o-shanters,  an Irish leprechaun, pith helmets, French berets, a Princess with tiara, a flapper dancer, Santa helpers, a red crab, cowboys, baseball fans, football supporters, a Chinese coolie with a long plait, Cleopatra style beaded headgear, fascinators fit for the Melbourne Cup, to some very creative, fanciful home made concoctions.

Two crew members acted as judges and awarded trophies to the best male and female hatter - both awards going to Nomads who had made their own hats.

The dining room staff put on a wonderful high tea and in true Alice in Wonderland style, we celebrated the non-birthdays of six passengers who will celebrate their real birthdays on other days in August.

The dining room was filled with lots of laughter and chatter - a very successful afternoon.

By the way - We had a chuckle when the daily on board newsletter, the Princess Patter, advertised the Mad HATERS afternoon tea
